Atlanta Strings was started 27 years ago by a local cello player.

In March of 2020, Jamie Parker, former Dekalb and Gwinnett orchestra teachers, purchased the business. Jamie taught orchestra at multiple schools in Dekalb as a traveling teacher before taking the reins at Sweetwater Middle School. He then opened Berkmar Middle School and grew the program to over 300 students. Venus has a Masters Degree in Violin Performance and taught at Lilburn Middle School, Parkview High School, and Snellville Middle School.

As former teachers, they know what it is like to be in the trenches of the classroom and are aiming to make it easier for teachers and students to learn their instrument. They are providing the highest quality rental instruments, replacement strings, shoulder rests and more. They treat students and parents who come in as if they were their own student at their school.
